Position Overview
The Project Engineer – Intervention Solutions is responsible for managing assigned intervention systems and operations from Trendsetter’s Aberdeen facility, supporting subsea projects and technical delivery.
The Project Engineer serves as the primary technical interface for customers regarding subsea well intervention systems and works closely with project managers, engineering teams, and field personnel to ensure project success.
This is an office-based position located at Trendsetter’s Aberdeen facility. Domestic and international travel is occasionally required. The position offers bonuses and a competitive salary based on the applicant’s experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering leadership and support for intervention systems, including design, assembly, testing, repair, and maintenance.
- Provide engineering support for customer intervention opportunities, including client permit approval processes, interface engineering, and engineering for the design and fabrication of project-specific components.
- Act as “beach” support for offshore field operations, including interventions and installations.
- Implement changes to resolve system and project problems, improve product performance and reliability, and lead MOC and NCR processes.
- Generate field manuals, drawings, and procedures for assets and offshore projects.
- Perform design and analysis of new products and modifications to existing equipment.
- Develop specifications and test requirements that drive product design.
- Lead and manage maintenance scopes for subsea and ancillary equipment.
- Gain a thorough understanding of Trendsetter-supplied equipment.
- Interface with clients as the primary technical representative for system and project support matters.
- Work with Project Managers and Technician staff to ensure technical information is accurate and consistent.
- Coordinate support with third-party companies and organizations as required.
- Stay current with developments affecting the industry and Trendsetter-supplied equipment, including regulatory requirements in the North Sea and other regions.
- Contribute to the continued improvement of existing processes and equipment and the development of new techniques and technology supporting subsea operations.
- Conform to all policies and procedures of Trendsetter Engineering, Inc.
- Represent Trendsetter as a technical specialist with potential clients, at industry presentations, and through committee participation related to subsea well intervention.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of industry experience in the Oil & Gas sector, including Drilling, Completion, Production, or Intervention.
- Design or operations experience with subsea equipment preferred.
- Experience in maintenance or refurbishment of equipment preferred.
- Engineering education.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems, including Word, Excel, MS Project, and Visio.
- Proficient in 2D and 3D drafting software.
- Experience with ANSYS analysis software preferred.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and time-management skills.
- Good written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as under direction.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines with changing priorities.
- Must be globally deployable and maintain a current passport, immunizations, and training according to company Global Deployment Policy.
- Position may require travel in support of projects for up to 60 days per year.
