About the Role
Vader-Rey Recruiting is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead the vertical construction of a ground-up commercial facility along the Texas Gulf Coast.
The project includes an approximately 55,000-square-foot office, shop, and warehouse facility, with a building package valued at approximately $10 million. A separate civil team will manage the site work, while the Superintendent will take ownership of the day-to-day field execution of the vertical building package.
This role requires a hands-on construction leader who can coordinate subcontractors, maintain schedules, uphold safety and quality standards, resolve field issues, and work closely with the project manager and civil team to keep the project moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day field operations for the vertical building package.
- Coordinate subcontractors, material deliveries, inspections, and construction sequencing.
- Work closely with the project manager and civil team to maintain project coordination and schedule.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Identify and help resolve field conflicts and construction issues as they arise.
- Maintain short-term schedules, daily reports, quality checks, and clear project communication.
- Monitor jobsite safety, construction quality, productivity, and overall project progress.
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, applicable standards, and project requirements.
- Manage punch-list activities, inspections, closeout, and final project turnover.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Superintendent experience on ground-up commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Experience managing projects of comparable size and complexity.
- Strong knowledge of vertical building construction, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, safety, and quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and day-to-day field operations.
- Ability to make effective field decisions and resolve issues in a fast-moving construction environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and coordination skills.
- Experience with office, shop, warehouse, or metal-building projects is especially relevant.
- Candidates with primarily civil or site-work backgrounds should also have substantial vertical-building experience.

$130,000–$150,000 DOE, depending on experience.
