Position Overview
The Project Engineer – Intervention Solutions is responsible for managing assigned intervention systems and operations, ensuring projects meet specifications and regulatory standards.
The Project Engineer is primarily responsible for managing assigned intervention systems and operations. This role ensures projects are delivered according to specifications, function as intended, and meet applicable regulatory standards.
The Project Engineer serves as the primary technical interface for customers regarding subsea well intervention systems and works closely with project managers, engineering teams, and field personnel to ensure project success.
This is an office-based position located at Trendsetter’s Houston, Texas campus. Occasional domestic and international travel is required. The position offers bonuses and a competitive salary based on the applicant’s experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering leadership and support for intervention systems, including design, assembly, testing, repair, and maintenance.
- Assist in the handover from new product creation to service and aftermarket.
- Provide engineering support for customer intervention opportunities, including client permit approval processes, interface engineering, and design and fabrication of project-specific components.
- Act as “beach” support for offshore field operations, including interventions and installations.
- Implement changes to resolve system and project problems and improve product performance and reliability.
- Lead MOC and NCR processes.
- Generate field manuals, drawings, and procedures for assets and offshore projects.
- Perform design and analysis for new products and modifications of existing equipment.
- Develop specifications and test requirements that drive product design.
- Gain a thorough understanding of Trendsetter-supplied equipment.
- Interface with clients as the primary technical representative for system and project support matters.
- Work with Project Managers and Technician staff to ensure technical information is accurate and consistent.
- Coordinate support with third-party companies and organizations as required.
- Stay current with developments affecting the industry and Trendsetter-supplied equipment, including regulatory requirements in the GOM and other regions.
- Contribute to the continued improvement of existing processes and equipment and the development of new techniques and technology supporting subsea operations.
- Conform to all policies and procedures of Trendsetter Engineering, Inc.
- Represent Trendsetter as a technical specialist with potential clients, at industry presentations, and through committee participation related to subsea well intervention.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of industry experience in an Oil & Gas sector, including Drilling, Completion, Production, or Intervention.
- Design experience in offshore and subsea equipment preferred.
- B.S. Engineering degree from an accredited university.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems, including Word, Excel, MS Project, and Visio.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Proficient in Orcaflex and ANSYS analysis software.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and time-management skills.
- Good written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as under direction.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines with changing priorities.
- Must be globally deployable and maintain a current passport, immunizations, and training according to the Global Deployment Policy.
- Position may require travel in support of projects, up to 60 days per year.
